Rev. Michael Wallace

Associate Pastor

The Rev. Michael J. Wallace began serving CPC as an Associate Pastor in July 2016. Previously, he had served other worshipping communities around Cleveland and Pittsburgh for almost 10 years, primarily as a director of music. After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Music and Spanish from Baldwin Wallace University, Michael received his Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a Master of Arts in Spanish linguistics from Cleveland State University. Ever the student, during his time at CPC, he also completed two summers of immersive Modern Hebrew through Middlebury Summer Language Institute and later received a Master of Theology (ThM) with a focus in the Hebrew Bible from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.

Michael continues his commitment to sacred music and the arts by singing in the church’s chancel choir and the High Holy Days choir at Temple Israel (Canton), among various other ensembles.

In early 2023, Michael joyfully served as one of the leaders of an interfaith pilgrimage to Israel. Later that same year, Michael took a four-month long Sabbatical, along with his wife and three children, to Barranquilla, Colombia. While there, he taught systematic theology at the Universidad Reformada.

In his ministry at CPC, Michael regularly preaches and teaches Sunday School, moderates several ministries, and is proud to have overseen historical reenactments, such as one commemorating the 150th wedding anniversary of William McKinley and Ida Saxton (which took place in our sanctuary in 1871!).
